As we start the twenty-first session of Tavern Tales, recorded during the depths of the Covid Pandemic in late May of 2020 we routinely as a group took stock of where we were and what we were doing in this very fraught year, and all of us were so very glad to have each other during this trying time, and to have this game and podcast to keep us sane. We chose, very early on to be a nuclear unit with each other, seeing only each other and should we need to go into work for a day or visit other relatives for Easter we then respectfully waited over two weeks before getting together and playing again. As I’m writing this we’re about to finish The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan, and you’re not getting this episode until October of this year, and right now it’s only August for me! Nevertheless, this module will come with bittersweet memories, but we hope that our mirth and merriment is something we can share with you, when there were so very few things to laugh about this year.
The battle against Xipe is going poorly and the rounds keep ticking by with no sign of him. While it isn’t dark anymore, Xipe has instead gone invisible and no one can find him. Maybe we can finish Xipe off with, oh, I don’t know, ALL of Tex’s spells – since he never uses any of them?
