How It All Started

Tavern Tales began in 2017 as a simple idea: record our D&D sessions and share them with the world. What started as a casual home game between friends quickly grew into a full-blown podcast network with multiple shows, dozens of campaigns, and a community of listeners who feel like regulars at the bar.

Over the years we've played everything from classic D&D 5e modules like The Sunless Citadel and White Plume Mountain to indie RPGs like Good Society and Vampire: The Requiem. Each campaign brings something new to the table — different systems, different tones, different stories — but the same group of people who genuinely love playing together.

In 2017 we also launched Tavern Tales Junior, a family-friendly spin-off designed to welcome younger listeners into the world of live-play. And in early 2024, Tavern Tales Family got its own dedicated feed. Today the network spans four shows, 13 campaigns, and hundreds of episodes — and we're still going.

The Dungeon Master - Kyle

Every great adventure needs someone to build the world, voice the villains, and keep the story moving when the players inevitably go completely off-script. Our Dungeon Master has been running games for the Tavern Tales crew since the very beginning — crafting original stories, adapting published modules, and somehow keeping everything together session after session.

Whether it's a dungeon crawl through a crumbling citadel or a drawing-room drama in a Regency-era parlour, Kyle brings the same energy and creativity to every campaign.  It's what his players have come to expect and his listeners keep coming back for.
